The 2.8-liter inline-six features Bosch fuel injection and was rebuilt in April 2001.

Service in preparation for sale included replacing the power-steering pump, and the oil.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission, which was rebuilt in fall 2000.

The differential has been fitted with 3.27:1 gears.

The car was refinished in Anthracite Gray (172) in favor of its factory-delivered Tobacco Brown (423), with work performed in 2014 by Moy’s Custom Painting & Collision.

The brightwork was refreshed at that time, and the car features a replacement black convertible top as well as a removable matching hardtop, which was refinished in spring 2019.

Chrome-finished 14″ Bundt wheels wear Mercedes-logo center caps and are mounted with 205/70 Michelin tires. Stiffer springs were added in 2003, and the rubber suspension bushings have been replaced.

The tan interior was refreshed in 2001 with leather upholstery work and replacement carpeting, which is protected by patterned mats.

The heater core has been flushed and serviced, and additional work in preparation for sale has included overhauling the Becker Europa radio with modern electronics as well as replacing the headliner for the hardtop.

A 360mm Nardi steering wheel sits ahead of factory VDO instrumentation that includes a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and a horizontal stack of auxiliary gauges and indicator lights.

The five-digit odometer shows 49k miles.
