This 1965 Ford Mustang GT is a K-code fastback a refurbishment that was completed in 2019. The car was subsequently honored with the Mustang Club of America Prestige and the AACA Senior Grand National awards. It has won 10 MCA Gold awards in the Concours Trailered class, was awarded its Blue Medallion in September 2023, and earned its most recent Gold award at the MCA 60th Mustang Anniversary show in April 2024. Refurbishment work involved overhauling the HiPo 289ci V8 and the four-speed manual transmission, refinishing the car in red, and re-trimming the black interior. The car features the GT equipment package as well as 14″ styled steel wheels, front disc brakes, Rally-Pac gauges, and a push-button AM/FM radio.

The K-code 289ci HiPo V8 was factory rated at 271 horsepower and 312 lb-ft of torque and is equipped with an Autolite four-barrel carburetor. The engine was overhauled in 2019, a Scott Fuller Reproductions exhaust system is equipped. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission, which received a replacement gear set and bearings as part of the refurbishment.

The car was refinished in red, the glass was replaced, and the bumpers were re-chromed as part of the work completed in 2019. Details include lower-body stripes, fog lights, GT badging, chrome bumpers, and dual exhaust outlets that exit through the rear fascia.

Styled 14″ steel wheels are mounted with US Royal Dual Redline tires. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums, which were rebuilt during the refurbishment. The car came factory-equipped with the Special Handling package, which added a larger stabilizer bar, larger shock absorbers, and stiffer springs. The suspension was also refreshed as part of the refurbishment.

The cabin houses front bucket seats and a folding rear bench trimmed in black vinyl with pony embroidery on the front seat backs. Woodgrain trim accents the dashboard and center console. A push-button AM/FM radio is equipped.

Instrumentation consists of a 140-mph speedometer, auxiliary gauges, and a column-mounted Rally-Pac cluster with a tachometer and an analog clock.
