This Porsche 356 Speedster replica was built with a fiberglass body mounted over a modified Volkswagen Beetle chassis by Vintage Speedsters. Powered by a 1.6-liter flat-four mated to a four-speed manual transaxle, it is finished in black over gray upholstery, and it is equipped with dual Weber carburetors, 15″ steel wheels, front disc brakes, a black soft top, a Nardi steering wheel, sisal floor mats, and Kenwood speakers. Service in preparation for the sale included replacing the carburetors, pushrod tubes and seals, rear main seal, clutch assembly, fuel filter, spark plugs, ignition wires, and rear axle seals.
The air-cooled 1.6L flat-four breathes through dual Weber carburetors fitted in June 2023, at which time the ignition switch and battery cut-off switch were replaced. The pushrod tubes and seals were replaced along with the rear main seal, spark plugs, ignition wires, fuel filter, and engine oil in preparation for sale. The alternator was replaced in preparation for the sale. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transaxle. The clutch assembly and rear axle seals were replaced.
The chassis number 5646659 is consistent with that of a 1963 Volkswagen Beetle.
The fiberglass body is mounted over a shortened Volkswagen Beetle chassis and is finished in black. Exterior details include halogen headlights, a black top and top boot, gold-finished badging, quadruple polished exhaust outlets, and body-color bumpers with bright trim and inset rub strips.
Steel 15″ wheels wear bright covers, trim rings, and 165/65 Dunlop SP Sport A2 tires. Braking is handled by front disc and rear drum brakes, and the brake master cylinder was replaced.
The cockpit houses bucket seats and a rear parcel shelf trimmed in gray upholstery that extends to the dashboard, door panels, and boots for the shifter and hand brake. A passenger-side grab handle, sisal floor mats, door map pockets, lap belts, and Kenwood door speakers, are additional elements.
A wood-rimmed Nardi Torino steering wheel fronts a central tachometer flanked by a 130-mph speedometer and a combination gauge with readouts for oil temperature and fuel level. The fuel gauge wiring was repaired.
The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 7k miles.
