This 1989 Toyota MR2 have been refurbished and modified in 2017. Subsequent work included enlarging the replacement 3SGTE inline-four to 2.3-liters as well as installing a tuned ECU, a flex-fuel sensor, and aftermarket suspension components. The car is finished in Super Red with a black roof and mirrors over black upholstery and is equipped with a five-speed manual transaxle, a limited-slip differential, 15″ alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, removable roof panels, LED interior and exterior lights, power accessories, and a touchscreen Pioneer stereo connected to MB Quart speakers and Rockford Fosgate subwoofers.
The factory engine was replaced with a 3SGTE turbocharged inline-four has been enlarged to 2.3-liters using forged pistons and connecting rods along with the following: GT2876 hybrid turbo, 1000cc injectors and a Speed-Source fuel rail, Walbro fuel pump, Bell intercooler mounted under the car, Aluminum radiator trim, Flex-fuel sensor and EMU engine management, Relocated battery to rear trunk, Tuned by ATS Racing.
The oil was changed in preparation for the sale at which time the head studs were tightened. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through what is a Japanese-market five-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential. A fabricated 3″ exhaust system is installed along with a braided stainless-steel clutch hose. The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage.
The body was reportedly stripped and refinished in factory Super Red with a contrasting black roof and side mirrors. The antenna, moldings, and marker lights were removed, and equipment includes pop-up headlights, clear front marker lights, LED exterior lights, removable roof panels, a quarter panel intake, a Toyota-branded rear window visor, and a polished exhaust outlet.
Gray-finished 15″ Watanabe-style wheels are mounted with 205/50 front and 225/45 rear Toyo Proxes R888R tires. The suspension is equipped with adjustable Techno Toy Tuning front and rear control arms, TC rods, trailing arms, and roll-center adjusters, High and Tight sway bars, and WAT adjustable coilovers. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with braided stainless-steel hoses and Porterfield brake pads. An alignment was performed in preparation for the sale.
The cabin features bucket seats have been reupholstered in black along with power windows and locks, a shifter sourced from a 1993 MR2, LED interior lights, MB Quart speakers, Rockford Fosgate subwoofers, and a Pioneer touchscreen stereo with integrated music storage.
A leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, and supplementary gauges.
The mechanical odometer shows 111k miles, true mileage is unknown.
