Work completed on this 1978 Jeep CJ-5 Levi’s Edition included repairing rust, repainting the body, retrimming the interior, and replacing the soft top and fuel tank. The truck is finished in brown over tan vinyl and is powered by a 304ci V8 mated to a three-speed manual transmission and dual-range transfer case. Equipment includes a tan soft top and doors, 15″ steel wheels, locking front hubs, black wheel-arch extensions, a body-color roll bar, a trailer hitch, “Levi’s” and “Golden Eagle” decals, and denim-look interior trim.
The 304ci AMC V8 sends power to the rear or all four wheels through a three-speed manual transmission and dual-range transfer case. The rear main seal was replaced in preparation for sale. The frame and underbody have been treated with an application of POR15, and the fuel tank was replaced.
Bodywork included rust repair and replacement of the tailgate, left-side floor pan, front fenders, and rear body mounts.
A YJ-sourced fold-down windshield is installed, and Golden Eagle decals have been applied to the hood.
Additional features include a replacement tan soft top with matching soft doors along with black wheel-arch extensions and a trailer hitch bar.
White 15″ steel wheels wear red and blue pinstriping and are mounted with 235/75 Cooper Discoverer A/T Tires.
A full-size spare is mounted to the tailgate and fitted with a vinyl cover.
The truck is equipped with power steering and manual locking front hubs, and stopping power is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drum brakes.
The cabin features seats that have been reupholstered in tan vinyl accented by metal Levi’s buttons along with denim-textured dashboard padding and replacement brown carpeting.
Equipment includes a cabin heater, a locking glovebox, a passenger grab handle, and a body-color roll bar.
The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a body-color dashboard with centrally mounted instrumentation consisting of a 90-mph speedometer with inset gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature along with a tachometer and gauges for voltage and oil pressure.
The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 82k miles.
