This 1978 AMC Pacer station wagon is finished in maroon over color-coordinated vinyl upholstery and is powered by a 258ci inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Subsequent work has included replacing the ignition components, engine mounts, and accessory belts as well as servicing the air conditioning and changing the fluids.
The 258ci inline-six is equipped with a two-barrel carburetor.
The starter, ignition components, engine mounts, accessory belts, coolant, and engine oil have been replaced.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission.
Steel 14″ wheels with full covers are fitted as well as front disc brakes, chrome bumpers, an AM/FM push-button stereo, and a folding rear bench seat.
The station wagon variant of the Pacer was fitted with a wider rear hatch compared to the standard model, and the D/L trim package added special wheel covers and exterior trim.
This example left the factory finished in Claret Metallic (8D) and features chrome bumpers, a left side mirror, pop-out rear quarter windows, and an elongated right-side door to ease rear seat access.
Steel 14” wheels wear full covers sporting body-color accents and are mounted with older 205/70 Michelin X thin-whitewall tires.
The car is equipped with power steering, and stopping power is provided by disc brakes up front and drums out back.
The high-pressure power steering have been replaced along with the brake fluid.
The front bucket seats and folding rear bench are upholstered in maroon vinyl and are accompanied by color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Additional appointments include a push-button AM/FM stereo and woodgrain accents on the dashboard.
The horn was repaired, and the air conditioning system was serviced in 2023.
The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a 90-mph speedometer, a fuel-level gauge, a clock, and an array of warning lights.
The five-digit odometer shows 65k miles.
