This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 coupe was produced at GM’s Leeds Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Missouri, and initially delivered to Tom Carney Chevrolet of Bluffton, Indiana. A body-off refurbishment was carried out by Manns Restoration, which included repainting the car red, reupholstering the cabin in black vinyl, and rebuilding the 454ci LS6 V8. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Muncie M22 four-speed manual transmission and a PosiTraction differential with 3.31:1 gearing, and additional equipment includes power-assisted steering and front disc brakes, a Delco AM radio, and 14” Super Sport wheels.

The 454ci LS6 was factory-equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and was rebuilt in 2009 by Morley Performance. Work at that time included boring and honing the block, balancing the rotating assembly, resurfacing the cylinder heads, and installing .030″ oversized pistons. The engine stamp pad was inspected in August 2024. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Muncie M22 four-speed manual transmission and a PosiTraction differential with 3.31:1 gearing.

Two build sheets are included in the sale and display the factory equipment along with a Z15 SS 454 package code.

Finished from the factory in Cranberry Red (75), the body was removed from the frame, placed on a rotisserie, sandblasted to bare metal, and repainted during the refurbishment. Exterior details include a black trim piece on the rear bumper, black grille inserts, quadruple headlights, dual exhaust outlets, and SS 454 badging.

The 14” Super Sport wheels are mounted with F70-14 white-letter Goodyear Polyglas tires. A full-size spare is stowed in the trunk. Braking is via power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The car is equipped with power-assisted steering.

The cabin houses two rows of bench seats that were factory-trimmed in black vinyl and reupholstered during the refurbishment. Appointments include a tilt steering wheel, a Delco AM radio, lap belts, a Muncie-branded shifter, and flip-down sun visors.

A two-spoke steering wheel with an SS badge frames a 120-mph speedometer and a fuel-level gauge.

The five-digit odometer shows approximately 58k miles, total mileage is unknown.
