This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu sport coupe was built by Route 66 Motorsports, the car is powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter LSA V8 paired with a TCI Automotive six-speed automatic transmission and is finished in black with red side stripes accented by a gray stars-and-stripes theme. Features include an Eaton supercharger, an AutoRad aluminum radiator, a Strange Engineering 9″ rear end, a limited-slip differential, an X-pipe dual exhaust system, Detroit Speed coilovers and Swivel-Link rear control arms, Baer four-wheel power disc brakes, and custom Boze Alloys 18″ wheels along with a Painless Performance wiring harness, a Sony Xplod audio system, an Old Air Products air-conditioning system, power windows, and Classic Instruments gauges.
The 6.2-liter LSA V8 crate engine is secured by Edelbrock mounts and features an aluminum block and cylinder heads along with an intercooled 1.9-liter Eaton supercharger, a K&N high-flow air filter, and a dual-pressure fuel system. Cooling is provided by an AutoRad aluminum radiator with an integrated transmission cooler and air-conditioning condenser as well as twin Maradyne High Performance fans. The stainless-steel Edelbrock exhaust system features ceramic-coated long-tube headers flowing into a dual pipes equipped with an X crossover and offset TTI mufflers.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through an Inland Empire aluminum driveshaft, a programmable TCI Automotive 4L80E-based six-speed automatic transmission, and a Strange Engineering S-series 9″ rear end with 31-spline S/S axle shafts, a Traction-Lok differential, and a 3.50:1 final gear ratio.
The car is finished in PPG black with red side stripes embellished by gunmetal-gray stars-and-stripes graphics. Features include a red-accented cowl-induction hood, Fesler Built billet hood hinges and taillights, and SS badging as well chrome bumpers, window surrounds, dual mirrors, and wheel-well moldings.
Suspension is handled by Detroit Speed & Engineering four-corner coilovers with DSE Swivel-Link rear control arms. Stopping power is provided by Baer four-wheel disc brakes with T4 calipers up front, S4 calipers at the rear, and cross-drilled slotted rotors all around.
Boze Alloys 18″ Velocity aluminum wheels each feature six spokes engraved with insignias for six branches of the United States armed forces. Toyo Proxes 4 tires.
The cabin features front bucket and rear bench seats trimmed in red vinyl with a matching center console, door panels, and headliner. Red carpeting overlays Thermo-Tec Cool It heat and sound insulation on the floors, firewall, and toeboard. Additional features include power windows with Specialty Power Windows regulators, a carbon-fiber-style dash panel, a Sony Xplod audio system, and a Clayton Machine Works pedal set with a drive-by-wire accelerator pedal.
A Flaming River Waterfall steering wheel mounted atop a Flaming River tilt steering column fronts a custom Classic Instruments gauge set consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level.
The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 500 miles driven since completion of the build; true chassis mileage is unknown.
