This 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 was built on December 12, 1966 and is one of 2,048 fastback examples produced for the model year. Power is provided by a 428ci Police Interceptor V8 with twin four-barrel Holley carburetors, and shifting is through a numbers-matching four-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes a 3.50:1 Traction-Lok differential, power front disc brakes, a competition suspension package, power steering, and a Deluxe black knitted vinyl interior. This GT500 is listed in the SAAC registry and is accompanied by an Elite Marti Report and copies of its original window sticker, dealer invoice, order document, and Special Vehicle Order specifications sheets.

The 428ci V8 features hydraulic lifters and twin four-barrel Holley carburetors. Factory-rated output was 355 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. As a Basic Order model, the car left the factory without Thermactor emissions equipment. Service performed in preparation for sale included an oil change, coolant flush, and tune-up, and the battery was also replaced.The GT500 model featured an enhanced suspension with Gabriel adjustable shock absorbers all around and rubber travel limiters for the rear leaf springs.

The GT500 model was added to Shelby American’s offerings for the 1967 model year, sharing the GT350’s styling while fitted with a higher-powered, FE-series engine.

Design features introduced for 1967 Shelby Mustangs included an extended fiberglass nose panel and an elongated fiberglass hood with a functional scoop.

Additional fiberglass panels were utilized for the taillight panel, trunk lid, ducktail rear spoiler, fender extensions, and air scoops on the sail panel and fenders.

Kelsey Hayes Mag-Star 15” alloy wheels were optional for the model year and wear Goodyear Speedway tires.

Braking is power assisted and is handled by discs up front and drums out back.
