This Shelby Cobra is the last of 13 CSX1000 continuation cars completed as part of a joint operation by Shelby American and AC Cars in the mid-2000s before the partnership between the two companies disbanded.
Hand-formed aluminum bodywork is finished in Guardsman Blue, while power is provided by a 427ci side-oiler V8 featuring a Genesis iron FE block, aluminum cylinder heads, and a Holley four-barrel carburetor.
Additional equipment includes a Toploader four-speed manual transmission, four-wheel ventilated disc brakes, independent coilover suspension, side pipes, black interior upholstery, and Halibrand-style knock-off wheels.
The CSX1000 series was introduced in the mid-2000s after Carroll Shelby reached an agreement with AC to collaborate on a production run of aluminum-bodied continuation Cobras.
Bodywork was hand-formed at AC’s Frimley facility in the UK over original Cobra wooden bucks before each car was sent to Shelby American in Las Vegas for assembly as a roller.
The 427ci V8 features a Genesis cast iron side-oiler FE block as well as an aluminum intake manifold and cylinder heads.
Induction is via a Holley Le Mans-style four-barrel carburetor in a turkey-pan cold air box.
Additional equipment includes MSD ignition components, an oil cooler, and a Fluidyne aluminum radiator with dual electric cooling fans.
An oil change was performed in preparation for sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Toploader wide-ratio four-speed manual transmission.
The A-arm independent suspension incorporates coilovers all around.
Stopping is handled by ventilated disc brakes with Shelby-branded calipers.
The Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin is signed by Carroll Shelby and lists delivery of the chassis to S/C Motorsports on December 4, 2007 as a roller sans engine or transmission.
This example is finished in Guardsman Blue and wears an AC Shelby nose badge that was distinct to the AC-bodied cars.
Side pipes, quick-jack bumperettes, and a roll hoop are finished in black.
Additional exterior equipment includes wind wings, black vinyl rear fender spats, and a Monza-style fuel filler cap.
Halibrand-style 15” wheels feature painted centers and polished lips, and are secured by three-eared knock-offs.
Goodyear Eagle tires measure 26.5×8.0” up front and 26.5×10.5” at the rear.
The cockpit is trimmed in black upholstery with color-matched carpeting over the floors, center tunnel, and seat backs.
Features include black SFI latch-and-link lap belts, tinted plexiglass sun visors, and a cowl-mounted rearview mirror.
The dash has been signed by Carroll Shelby.
A wood-rimmed steering wheels sits ahead of a Shelby-branded 180-mph speedometer, tachometer, and gauges monitoring coolant temperature, oil temperature, oil pressure, amperage, and fuel level.
The five-digit odometer shows 2,500 miles.
