This 1965 Ford Mustang GT fastback is powered by a 289ci HiPo V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission and is finished in white over red leather upholstery. Equipment includes GT trim, driving lamps, red side stripes, sail panel louvers, a push-button radio, a center console, and a column-mounted Rally-Pac tachometer and analog clock.
The 289ci V8 was rebuilt and bored .030” over by Alec’s Automotive Machine Shop in 2017. Components were cleaned and magna-fluxed, the rotating assembly was balanced, the surfaces were machine-decked, the crankshaft was polished, and additional work included rebuilding the cylinder heads, grinding and polishing the valves, installing a COMP Cams camshaft, and replacing the pistons, rocker arms, lifters, and rod and main bearings. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission and a differential with 3.50:1 gearing.
The car was factory-finished in Wimbledon White (M) and have been repainted during the refurbishment. Details include red side stripes, GT badging, vented sail-panel louvers, and dual exhaust outlets that exit through the rear valence.
Styled steel 14″ wheels are mounted with 205/70 BFGoodrich Silvertown dual-redline tires, and a full-size spare is stored in the trunk. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The front bucket seats and rear bench left the factory trimmed in red luxury vinyl and were later reupholstered in color-keyed leather. Details include a center console, lap belts, rubber floor mats, bright interior accents, and a push-button AM radio.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a column-mounted Rally-Pac tachometer and analog clock as well as a 140-mph speedometer and gauges displaying fuel level, oil pressure, amperage, and coolant temperature.
The five-digit odometer shows 39k miles.
