This 1965 Ford Mustang was built as a C-code convertible at Ford’s Dearborn, Michigan, facility with special-ordered paint and has been refinished in Charcoal Gray Metallic with a white convertible top over a red vinyl interior.

The car is powered by a 289ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission.

The Special Handling Package and Visibility Group were equipped from new, and additional factory options include a front bench seat with a center armrest, an AM radio, a tinted windshield, padded sun visors, backup lights, front disc brakes, and 14″ steel wheels with wire covers.

The 289ci C-code V8 is equipped with a two-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 200 horsepower at 4,400 rpm and 282 lb-ft of torque at 2,400 rpm when new.

A replacement oil pan was installed and an oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Cruise-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission.

This example was ordered with “special paint,” a $34.66 option, and has been refinished in Charcoal Gray Metallic.

The car was refurbished and features a white convertible top that stows beneath a red vinyl boot cover.

Additional equipment includes a tinted windshield, backup lights, and chrome bumpers.

14″ steel wheels wear wire wheel covers and 195/75 Travelstar UN106 whitewall tires.

A 6.95-14 four-ply spare is mounted in the trunk.

Front disc brakes were equipped from the factory along with the Special Handling Package that included a quicker steering ratio, a larger-diameter front sway bar, stiffer front and rear springs, and heavy-duty shock absorbers.

The optional front bench seat features a factory center armrest and is upholstered in red vinyl.

A matching rear bench seat, dashboard, carpets, sun visors, and door panels are also fitted, and amenities include an AM radio, a floor-mounted shifter, and lap belts for the front occupants.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a horizontal 120-mph speedometer as well as gauges monitoring fuel level and coolant temperature.

The five-digit odometer shows just under 14k miles, total mileage is unknown.
