This 1963 Plymouth Belvedere is one of approximately 60 two-door hardtops examples produced for the model year with the 415 horsepower variant of the 426ci Max Wedge as well as a three-speed manual transmission. A four-speed manual transmission has since been installed. Refurbishment work completed by AutoKraft of Eau Claire, Wisconsin included repainting the body and retrimming the interior, and the engine was reportedly rebuilt by Wheeler Racing Engines of Blaine, Minnesota. Equipment includes a cross-ram intake manifold, dual four-barrel carburetors, a Sure-Grip differential, 15″ body-color steel wheels, four-wheel drum brakes, and a column-mounted Steward Warner tachometer.
The 426ci Max Wedge V8 was rebuilt by Wheeler Racing Engines of Blaine, Minnesota, and is equipped with a cross-ram intake manifold topped with two four-barrel carburetors. The oil was changed in preparation for the sale. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a replacement four-speed manual transmission and a 3.16:1 Sure-Grip differential.
The car was produced with a Borg Warner T-85 three-speed manual transmission that has since been removed and is included in the sale.
The body left the factory finished in Ruby and was repainted as part of the refurbishment. Additional equipment includes a driver-side mirror, quad headlights, windshield wipers, a hood ornament, Belvedere badging, a dual exhaust system, and chrome trim on the bumpers, side moldings, window surrounds, grille, and light surrounds.
Body-colored 15″ steel wheels wear bright hubcaps along with Goodyear Eagle ST tires. Braking is handled by unassisted four-wheel drums.
The interior was retrimmed as part of the refurbishment and features front and rear bench seats upholstered in red vinyl with cloth inserts. Additional equipment includes vent windows, a floor-mounted Hurst shifter, polished door sills, lap belts for the front occupants, a trunk-mounted battery, and a push-button AM radio.
The two-spoke steering wheel features a half-horn ring and fronts a 120-mph speedometer, a column-mounted Stewart Warner tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for battery charge, fuel level, and coolant temperature. An additional Stewart Warner gauge mounted beneath the dashboard displays oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 75k miles, total mileage is unknown.
