This 1953 Chrysler New Yorker Deluxe is one of 950 convertibles built for the model year and is finished in pale yellow over blue leather and plaid cloth.

It is powered by a 331ci FirePower Hemi V8 that has been fitted with a four-barrel Edelbrock carburetor and is mated to a GM TH350 three-speed automatic transmission.

The 331ci FirePower V8 features hemispherical combustion chambers and has been fitted with an aluminum intake manifold and four-barrel Edelbrock carburetor.

Additional modifications include a 12-volt alternator, custom air cleaner, and body-colored valve covers.

This example was refurbished with a repaint in the current shade of pale yellow and re-plating of the brightwork.

Kelsey Hayes-style 15” chrome wire wheels have been fitted and feature spinner-look covers.

BFGoodrich tires are mounted all around.

Four-wheel ventilated disc brakes with power assistance have been added in lieu of the original drums.

An updated front subframe carries a tubular double-wishbone suspension setup as well as rack-and-pinion power steering, while the factory leaf-sprung rear suspension configuration is retained.

Inside, front and rear bench seats are trimmed in blue and green plaid cloth inset in blue leather, with matching trim on the door panels.

Blue upholstery covers the padded dash, while color-keyed carpeting lines the floors, trunk, and spare wheel cover.

Blue lap belts with chrome buckles have been added, as has a Vintage Air air conditioning system.

A three-spoke, body-colored steering wheels sits on a tilt column ahead of a matching dash fascia housing a 120-mph speedometer.

Additional gauges monitor amperage, fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature, while a clock is situated in the center dash.

The five-digit odometer shows 73k miles, and true mileage is unknown.
