This 1950 Oldsmobile 88 Futuramic Club Coupe left the Southgate, California, plant as a 303ci V8-powered example, and it was refurbished and modified by Dick’s Rod Shop.

Modifications and refurbishment work included custom bodywork, a repaint in black, and the installation of a 502ci V8 crate engine, a four-speed automatic transmission, and a limited-slip differential.

Additional modifications include updated suspension components, a four-wheel disc-brake conversion, staggered-width 15″ wheels, two-tone leather upholstery, air conditioning, an adjustable Ididit steering column, and an aftermarket stereo system.

The GM 502ci V8 crate engine was installed during the build and features a Holley aluminum intake manifold, a Holley electronic fuel-injection system, and a custom air cleaner.

A Be Cool aluminum radiator is paired with dual Spal electric fans, and Sanderson headers are mated to a dual exhaust system featuring Flowmaster mufflers.

An oil change was completed in preparation for the sale.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 4L80E 4-Speed automatic transmission and an Alston’s Chassisworks 9″ rear-end housing equipped with an Auburn Gear 3.00:1 limited-slip differential assembly.

The body was stripped to the bare metal and refinished in the current black by Cotati Speed Shop.

Custom-fabricated 15″ wheels feature a chrome finish and are fitted with staggered-width BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.

The suspension has been lowered 2″ with Heidts front drop spindles, and also incorporates a Mustang II-style front suspension system paired with a custom rear suspension setup utilizing adjustable ladder bars and dual coilovers on each side.

Disc brakes are fitted at all four corners, and the car is equipped with power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering.

The interior was redone by Howdy Ledbetter using black leather upholstery with red accents covering the front and the rear benches, which are accompanied by matching treatments for the door panels and rear trim.

Further additions include a dash-mounted Moon tachometer, a Vintage Air climate control system, sound deadening insulation, an adjustable steering column sourced from Ididit, and a hidden Alpine stereo linked to six Infinity speakers.

An LED shift indicator is integrated into the face of the stock radio, and the stock switchgear have been modified to operate the HVAC and windshield wipers.

The trunk was re-trimmed to match the interior upholstery and features a compartment for the relocated battery and fuel tank.

Classic Instruments gauges are fronted by a modified steering wheel and consist of a sweeping 110-mph speedometer accompanied by readings for water temperature, fuel level, voltage, and oil pressure.

The five-digit odometer indicates that 719 miles have been driven since completion of the build.

True mileage in unknown.
