This 1957 MG MGA roadster was subsequently refurbished with work consisting of refinishing the body in blue, reupholstering the seats in tan leather, and performing upgrades to the 1,632cc inline-four. Additional equipment includes a four-speed manual transmission, a tan soft top, a heater, removable side curtains, 15″ steel wheels, Lucas driving lights, and chrome-finished bumpers with overriders.
The 1,500cc inline-four was overbored to displace 1,632cc and features dual SU carburetors. Additional work included installing a PerTronix electronic ignition module and a spin-on oil filter, along with fitting bronze valve guides and Teflon valve stem seals onto the cylinder head and balancing the pistons and rods. The cylinder head was resurfaced, and service in preparation for the sale included an oil change and a valve adjustment.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Work included replacing the laygear, second-gear synchro ring, bearings, gaskets, and seals.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate lists factory colors, equipment, and a build date of May 1957. Recent service records, a tonneau cover, a tool roll, and photos taken at various stages of the refurbishment will accompany the car.
Finished from the factory in Glacier Blue, the car was refinished and is equipped with a tan fabric soft top, removable side curtains, Lucas driving lights, wind wings, and chrome bumpers with overriders.
Steel 15″ wheels with polished hubcaps are mounted with 165/80 Nankang Cx-668 tires, and a covered spare is stored in the trunk. Braking is provided by four-wheel drums, and the shock absorbers were rebuilt.
The cabin features low-back bucket seats reupholstered in tan leather, joined by a color-coordinated dash pad and door cards. Amenities include a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a heater, a manually operated windshield washer pump, and MG-branded floor mats.
A banjo-style steering wheel fronts a body-color dashboard housing instrumentation that includes a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level.
The five-digit odometer shows 279 miles, and total mileage is unknown.
