This 1965 Chevrolet Corvette convertible was produced on July 7, 1965. The car underwent a refurbishment that was completed circa 2000. Power is provided by a 396ci L78 V8 backed by a four-speed manual transmission, and the car is finished in red over a red and white interior. Equipment includes a Positraction differential, a white soft top, 15″ steel wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, chrome bumpers, and retractable headlights.

The 396ci L78 V8 was equipped from the factory with a single four-barrel carburetor for a factory rating of 425 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque. Replacement components installed during the 2000 refurbishment include the radiator and the ignition shield, while the fuel pump was rebuilt. The battery, fuel tank, and fuel lines were replaced in 2022.

The engine stamping is shown above. The IF suffix is consistent with a 425-horsepower, 396ci V8 for use with a manual transmission. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a Positraction rear end with a 3.70:1 ratio.

The body left the factory finished in Rally Red (UU) and was repainted during the 2000 refurbishment. Additional work at that time involved replacing the white soft top, rebuilding the headlight motors, re-chroming the bumpers, and polishing the stainless steel.

Steel 15″ wheels feature faux-knock-off covers and are mounted with 205/75 Uniroyal Tiger Paw AWP II tires. The trailing arms, front suspension, and shocks were rebuilt in 2000. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs.

The cabin was refreshed in 2000, with components sourced from Al Knoch Interiors. The bucket seats are upholstered in white vinyl, which is complemented by coordinated door panels and red carpets. Amenities include an AM/FM radio, a heater, an analog clock, and lap belts.

A three-spoke woodgrain-rimmed steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges, which were refurbished in 2000.

The five-digit odometer shows 46k miles.
