This 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SL is powered by a 2.8-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission and is finished in red over Parchment MB-Tex. Equipment includes a beige convertible top, a body-color removable hardtop, 14″ steel wheels with painted hubcaps, and air conditioning as well as a Becker Europa AM/FM radio.

The W113 SL was designed by Friedrich Geiger, Béla Barényi, and Paul Bracq and was introduced to the public at the 1963 Geneva Motor Show. This example left the factory finished in Signal Red (568) and was repainted circa 1995. Features include a beige soft top, a body-color removable hardtop, a retractable antenna, a driver-side mirror, and US-specification headlights.

Steel 14″ wheels wear hubcaps with painted centers and are wrapped in 185-series Phoenix thin-whitewall tires. The tie rod assemblies were replaced in March 2020, while the front brake calipers, pads, and rotors were changed along with the front wheel bearings in January 2024.

The cabin houses bucket seats upholstered in Parchment MB-Tex that extends to the door panels, and it features a floor-mounted gear shifter as well as a Becker Europa AM/FM radio. The air-conditioning system was converted to utilize R134a refrigerant in September 2014. The heater, the analog clock, and the glove compartment were serviced in March 2020.

The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring, and it frames a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature.

The five-digit odometer shows 48k miles.
