This 1937 Lincoln-Zephyr coupe was extensively customized, including having its top chopped before its steel bodywork was refinished in candy apple red. The car has also been fitted with fully independent, air-ride suspension in addition to four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, bi-xenon headlights, LED taillights, dual batteries, custom running boards, and rear-hinged doors. Power comes from a 383ci Vortec stroker V8 equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and backed by a TH350 automatic transmission. The interior is upholstered in two-tone black and tan and incorporates bucket seats, a tilt steering column, Vintage Air climate control, a custom stereo system, and much more.
The 383ci Vortec V8 stroker is topped with an Edelbrock intake manifold and a four-barrel carburetor. Additional equipment includes an aluminum radiator, chrome front accessory drive, a PerTronix FlameThrower HEI distributor, ACCEL Extreme ceramic spark plug wires, stainless steel exhaust headers, a custom exhaust system, and custom-fabricated stainless steel panels in the engine bay and on the underside of the hood. An oil change was performed in anticipation of the sale. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission and a rear end with 3.21 gearing.
Introduced for the 1936 model year, the Lincoln-Zephyr line was intended to bridge the gap between Ford’s DeLuxe models and the Lincoln Model K. This ’37 coupe has been modified with a 4″ roof chop, frenched rear license plate, rear-hinged doors with electric door poppers, and bi-xenon headlights. The exterior is finished in Shimrin Apple Red Kandy from House of Kolor.
Additional exterior features include LED taillights, rear fender skirts, custom running boards with integrated exhaust outlets, and sideview mirrors from Billet Specialties. Dual Optima batteries are mounted in the trunk as shown in the gallery, and the car has also been fitted with a 14-gallon fuel tank.
Artillery-style 15″ wheels from Wheel Vintiques were added, and are wrapped in Auburn Deluxe Radial whitewall tires. A matching spare wheel and tire are mounted in the trunk. The independent front suspension was sourced from an AMC Pacer, while the independent rear suspension is said to be from a 1991 Ford Thunderbird. The power-assisted, rack-and-pinion steering rack is from Detroit Speed, and the Air Lift Performance air-ride system is equipped with automatic height sensors that raise the ride height when in motion. Braking is handled by vented discs all around.
The cabin features power-adjustable bucket seats trimmed in black leather with tan inserts. Door and side panels are upholstered to match along with the headliner and center console. Black carpeting lines the floors, and additional equipment includes a Vintage Air climate control system, power windows and locks, a center console storage box with 12V power and USB ports, a Clayton Machine Works shifter and billet handle, Digital Guard Dawg push-button start, and custom door sills. The stereo system incorporates a Pioneer AVH-3400NEX head unit, Memphis Audio MM500.4V amplifier, Memphis Audio 6.5″ mid-range tweeters, and M1 subwoofers.
A leather-wrapped, two-spoke Grant steering wheel is mounted on an Ididit tilt steering column. A painted steel dash houses a 100-mph speedometer flanked by auxiliary gauges, and the odometer shows under 7k miles. Total chassis mileage is unknown.
