This 1969 Mercury Cougar Eliminator was built on April 22, 1969. Finished in yellow over black vinyl upholstery, the car is powered by a 428ci Cobra Jet V8 mated to a C-6 three-speed automatic transmission and a Traction-Lok differential. Additional equipment includes Ram Air Induction, hood pins, 14″ styled wheels, power steering, front disc brakes, chrome bumpers, a rear wing, the Decor Group, high-back front bucket seats, woodgrain trim, and an AM/FM radio.

The R-code 428ci Cobra Jet V8 was factory equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and a Ram Air induction system. Power was rated at 335 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque when new.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a C-6 three-speed automatic transmission and a Traction-Lok differential with 3.50:1 gearing.

Introduced in 1969, the Eliminator included a blacked-out front grille, reflective side stripes, a hood scoop, a rear wing, hood pins, stiffer springs, and a larger diameter anti-roll bar up front. This example underwent a multi-year refurbishment and has been refinished in yellow with black stripes. Additional exterior equipment includes concealed headlights, chrome bumpers, and sequential turn signals.

Styled 12-slot 14″ wheels wear chrome trim rings and are mounted with Goodyear Polyglas tires featuring raised white lettering. The car is equipped with power steering, and stopping is provided by front discs and rear drums.

The refreshed cabin houses high-back front buckets and a rear bench upholstered in black Comfortweave vinyl. Woodgrain accents adorn the doors and rear side panels as part of the Eliminator Décor Group trim option. Additional interior appointments include a replacement AM/FM radio, a center console, lap belts, and a heater.

The Rim Blow steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for amperage, fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure.

The five-digit odometer shows 42k miles.
