This 1956 Studebaker Golden Hawk is one of 4,071 examples produced for the model year and was completed on February 13, 1956. The car is finished in two-tone gold and white over matching vinyl upholstery, and power comes from a 352ci V8 paired with a replacement three-speed automatic transmission. Features include front disc brakes, power-assisted steering, a dual-exit exhaust, an engine-turned dash panel, a heater, and an AM radio.

The 352ci V8 features a Carter four-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 275 horsepower. A replacement freeze plug and battery were installed in preparation for sale. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a replacement GM TH400 three-speed automatic transmission that was installed. The car is equipped with a dual-exit exhaust system.

Conceived as an update of the Starliner and styled under the direction of Raymond Loewy, the Golden Hawk debuted for 1956 as one of four Hawk models offered by Studebaker. This example was delivered from the factory in Sunglow Gold (P5610) and was repainted in its current two-tone gold and white. Equipment includes chrome bumpers and trim, an eggcrate-style grille, a faux hood scoop, fender-mounted turn signal pods, functional fender vents, dual sideview mirrors, and fiberglass tailfins.

The 15″ painted steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps and are mounted with 225/75 Hankook Radial H714 whitewall radial tires. A matching spare wheel and tire are stowed in the trunk. The Golden Hawk features a coil-sprung independent front suspension and a live rear axle with leaf springs, and this example was equipped from the factory with power steering. Stopping power is provided by front discs and rear drums.

The cockpit features front and rear bench seats trimmed in white vinyl with gold inserts and piping. Color-coordinated door panels are fitted, and black carpets line the floors. Additional equipment includes an engine-turned dash panel with a locking glovebox an AM radio, a clock, and a heater. A set of uninstalled lap belts is included in the sale.

The white steering wheel features a chrome horn ring, and it frames a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges.

The five-digit odometer shows 9,400 miles. Total mileage is unknown.
