This 1966 Ford Mustang GT fastback was refurbished in 2010 and is powered by a 289ci HiPo V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The car is finished in green over black, and features include the GT Equipment group, the Special Handling package, dual four-barrel carburetors, a Cobra intake manifold, 14″ styled wheels, power-assisted front disc brakes, chrome bumpers, front bucket seats, an AM radio, and a Hurst shifter.
The 289ci HiPo V8 was factory rated at 271 horsepower, and this example is fitted with dual four-barrel carburetors mounted to a Cobra intake manifold. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a rear axle with 3.50:1 gears. The underside was refinished in 2010.
The car left the factory finished in Ivy Green Metallic and was refinished along with the chrome bumpers and trim in 2010. Features include lower-body stripes, fog lights, GT badging, Cobra fender badges, and dual exhaust outlets that exit through the rear fascia.
The 14″ styled wheels are mounted with 195/70 Goodyear Eagle ST tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The car came factory-equipped with the Special Handling package, which added a larger stabilizer bar, larger shock absorbers, and stiffer springs.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black vinyl with black trim. Amenities include an AM radio, lap belts, a cabin heater, and a Hurst shifter with a wooden shift knob.
Instrumentation consists of a 140-mph speedometer, a Rally Pac tachometer and analog clock, and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, amperage, and coolant temperature.
The five-digit odometer shows 40k miles, and total mileage is unknown.
