This 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu sport coupe was produced at GM’s Baltimore, Maryland, facility and underwent a custom refurbishment that included a repaint and replacement of the powertrain as well as updates to the interior. The body is finished in gold, and power is provided by a 502ci V8 crate engine mated to a Richmond Gear T10 four-speed manual transmission. Additional modifications and equipment include a 12-bolt rear end, a Holley electronic fuel-injection system, exhaust headers, SS badges, front disc brakes, and 15″ aluminum wheels as well as a Hurst shifter, a center console, bucket seats, and a Sony CD stereo with Bluetooth connectivity.

A GM ZZ502 V8 crate engine was as been fitted with a Holley fuel injection unit. Cooling is from an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans, and other features include an aluminum high-rise intake manifold, a serpentine belt system, and headers connected to a dual exhaust equipped with Dynomax mufflers.

An oil change was completed in preparation for sale. Power is routed to the rear wheels via a Richmond Gear-sourced Super T10 four-speed manual transmission and 12-bolt rear axle.

The body was originally finished in Placer Gold (53) according to the trim tag, and it was repainted during the refurbishment.

Features include a cowl-induction hood, black stripes, hood pins, and “SS” badging on the grille, fenders, and rear bumper.

Staggered-width 15″ Centerline-style wheels feature a polished finish and are fitted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.

A covered spare is stored in the trunk.

Disc brakes are fitted up front, and the car is equipped with power steering.

Replacement black upholstery covers the front buckets and the rear bench.

Further equipment includes a center console, a Holley EFI display and tuning device, a Hurst shifter topped with a cue ball-style shift knob, and a Sony CD Stereo with Bluetooth connectivity.

An AutoGauge tachometer is mounted to the steering column and sits ahead of a 120-mph speedometer, a stock tachometer, and auxiliary gauges.

A trio of supplementary AutoGauge instruments are mounted along the base of the center stack.

The five-digit odometer indicates approximately 62k miles.
